Ski and culinary safari

Discover how to swim against the tourist tide and have the slopes and huts almost to one's self.

  • This is Hitsch Leu's tip. Hitsch is born and bred in Arosa and the operator of the Hörnli hut.

07.30 am

Wake-up & coffee 

08.20 am

first cable car to the Weisshorn summit and enjoy freshly prepared, pristine pistes until 10.30 am

10.30 am

while the pistes are slowly filling up, enjoy a down-to-earth breakfast on Hörnli 

11 am

take the Urdenbahn aerial tramway and do two or three long runs on Heimberg while everyone else is having lunch. Then go over to the Stäzer side and enjoy a drink in Chilli hut. After this go on the Stäzerhorn runs a couple of times and then return to Heimberg.

2 pm

when the pistes get busy again, have a snack or lunch at Motta hut, then go back towards Arosa. 

5.30 pm

Schümlipflümli (plum brandy coffee) at Carmennahütte and perhaps another one in the village after the descent, for example at Los or Overtime.

6.30 pm

Power nap

7.30 pm

freshen up

8.30 pm

Evening meal in one of the spectacular restaurants in Arosa

11 pm

wander through Arosa's night-life and make a detour to Wandelbar before returning home.

From the third day onwards it's probably best to give yourself a break from skiing and lie on a deck chair with the sun in your face dreaming of skiing instead...
